Ludhiana: A meeting of the District Delayed Payment Council (DDPC), which is headed by deputy commissioner, Ludhiana, Varinder Kumar was held recently. During the meeting, several matters related to Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industry of Ludhiana and their cases with regard to delay in recovering their payments from their customers were also discussed.
In one of the cases which came up for hearing, the postmaster of Bareilly has been penalised for not making timely payment to a Ludhiana firm. Several other similar cases were decided by the committee in this meeting. The DC reiterated that the delay in payments for supplies received from the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises would invite heavy penalty against defaulting buyers.
