Law enforcement officials have made over 600 arrests in a crackdown on mail theft and postal carrier robberies. The Postal Service is replacing universal keys with electronic locks and deploying high-security blue boxes to prevent theft. Measures have led to a reduction in fraudulent address changes and counterfeit postage. The penalty for interfering with the mail can be up to 25 years in prison.
