In the Courts: Dangerous dog threatened with destruction

Dangerous Dog An Andover woman has been ordered to muzzle her dog or have it destroyed following an attack in Upper Clatford. Linda Jane Marriott, of Hibiscus Crescent, pleaded guilty to being the owner of a dangerously out of control dog. The dog, a Brindle Podenco called Leire, injured Marcia Johnson on Norman Court Lane in Upper Clatford on January 2, 2021. Basingstoke Magistrates Court ordered Marriott to muzzle the dog and to always keep it under control on a lead, which must be held by someone who is at least 16 years old. Otherwise, it must be destroyed . The 55-year-old was fined £250, and ordered to pay compensation of £200, a victim surcharge of £34, and costs of £85.
