British holidaymakers hoping to jet off to Portugal as soon as the UK travel restrictions are lifted face uncertainty as the nation s government has chosen to extend its lockdown.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that as of May 17, the stay in the UK restriction will be dropped, allowing people to visit green list countries, including Portugal.
However the country s state of calamity lockdown measures will now be in place until at least May 30.
Guidance published on the Portuguese Government’s website on Thursday stated that ministers had approved the move to continue the current level of lockdown.
