Portugal to aid Covid-stricken India
Portugal is to send antiviral medication and oxygen to Covid-stricken India.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs said it is currently studying the most effective way to transport the material.
The initiative is being carried out within the framework of the EU Emergency response Coordination Centre.
Over one million people have been infected with Covid in India in the past three days and the country, which has a population of 1.3 billion people, is seeing record numbers of deaths.
Portugal sends €80,000 to support communities
In 2020, the Portuguese State provided aid of €80,000 to people in difficulties abroad due to the covid-19 pandemic, the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities announced in Luanda.
Berta Nunes was talking stock of a five-day working visit to Angola, in which she maintained contact with the Portuguese community in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela and Huíla. The support aims to help Portuguese communities abroad to overcome the difficulties caused by the covid-19 pandemic and the consequent confinement in the various countries.
