Oaks Amusement Park reopened last weekend, and showed off its newest ride, AtmosFEAR. The new AtmosFEAR is Oregon s most extreme attraction, vaulting riders to just shy of 100 feet at the full inversion swing, with extreme G-forces in play with every loop, said Emily MacKay, marketing and events director. It is unique in that it is two rides in one riders can opt for the traditional pendulum 180-degree ride, or for those looking to take the thrill to the next level, there is a 360-degree ride that takes the terror over the top.

As we move deeper into spring, more outdoor activities are cropping up. The Oregon Humane Society’s annual Doggie Dash morphs into a monthlong event with ideas for getting outdoors and helping raise funds for the shelter. We’ve also found several classical music events and a streaming film festival out of Ashland.

Portland Opera presents an evening of art, song, opera, and short pieces about love, justice, and experiences of being a Black American. The collection was curated by Portland Opera artistic adviser Damien Geter and will be directed by Chip Miller, associate artistic director at Portland Center Stage. The problem that continues to grow is sparking community action.
To clean the area and get it ready for the first Portland Saturday Market of the season next weekend, dozens of volunteers picked up trash Saturday morning.
