People in Portishead can expect no increase in the town’s precept for the coming year.
This was agreed after the town council set its budget for 2021/22 at a special meeting held on December 16.
The council’s finance officer, Martin Salisbury, presented a report at the meeting, explaining the increase in the precept in 2020 had been ‘sufficient’ to allow the council to invest in the town and keep its reserves at the level recommended by the Joint Panel on Accountability and Governance (JPAG).
2020 saw investment in the creation of a new heritage centre at the Folk Hall in Portishead.
