Pembrokeshire s 21st century schools programme making progress despite Covid-19, says council

Work is continuing on developing and implementing plans around school improvement, despite the on-going impact of Covid-19 on learners education. Cllr Guy Woodham, the Pembrokeshire County Council s cabinet member for education and lifelong learning has said: “While the ongoing pandemic continues to make this a tough time for learners, their families and schools we have not lost our focus on school improvement and delivering the 21St Century Schools Band B programme (21C Programme). “The 21C Programme has already delivered remarkable results in Pembrokeshire with £121.86m invested in the county so far, to provide fantastic learning environments fit for the 21st century.”

Pembrokeshire pupils will learn online for first week of Spring Term 2021

Pupils in Pembrokeshire will go back school on January 11, spending the first week of term learning online it has been announced. Pembrokeshire schools will provide distance learning for learners from the start of next term, Monday, January 4 until Friday, January 8. Schools that have Inset days planned at the start of the term will be closed and will not be offering learning on those days. Childcare for critical workers and vulnerable learners will be available on all school sites from Wednesday, January 6, this will include Portfield Special School and the Pembrokeshire Learning Centre. Parents and carers need to contact the school directly to arrange this.
