An app developed by Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy students has won a top prize in Samsung s Solve for Tomorrow contest.
The school is one of three national winners in the contest and will receive $130,000 worth of technology plus an additional $15,000 as the Samsung Employee Choice Award Winner.
That total includes $65,000 worth of technology won in April for being among the 10 national finalists in the contest, a Samsung spokeswoman said Tuesday. This diverse group of students came together to make a positive change in our society, Joe Stinziano, an executive vice president with Samsung Electronics America, said in presenting a top award to Collegiate virtually Tuesday evening.

BROWNSVILLE - Victor Ramos out of Porter High School signed his NLI to the University of Jamestown.
He ll continue not only his football career but his track and field career with the Jimmies.
Ramos was the center for the cowboys. He achieved co-offensive lineman of the year, all district team and all metro during his junior and senior year.
He plans on majoring in exercise science. He wants to become a physical therapist or athletic trainer after graduation.
