Former Yukon MLA and renowned storyteller Archie Lang dies at 72
Condolences poured in Thursday for the family of Archie Lang, a longtime MLA and entrepreneur, as did memories of his unforgettable stories.

Yukon Party Leader Currie Dixon and the Speaker of the legislature paid tribute today to former cabinet minister Archie Lang, who has died. He
would have turned 73 next month.
“It is with a heavy heart that I learned of the passing of former Yukon Party MLA Archie Lang, who was a true giant of Yukon history,” Dixon said.
“Archie served the Yukon well over his two terms in office and played a key part in the Yukon Party governments elected in 2002 and 2006,
serving as a minister in three portfolios during that time,” Dixon said.
“He was also a prominent and successful businessman in several communities throughout the Yukon.”

The riding is held by Liberal cabinet minister Richard Mostyn.
“As a struggling single parent for many years, I came to the Yukon because it promised a better life for my family,” Drainville said today.
“Yukon gave us the opportunity to thrive, and I am eager to give back to the territory and my community by serving as a progressive and compassionate voice for hard-working Yukoners in the legislative assembly.”
Drainville has decades of experience in culture and tourism, along with a career in occupational health and safety.
She works with both the private and public sectors as the general manager of Outcrop Yukon and as an occupational health and safety educator at the Northern Safety Network.
