PORTAGE, Mich. Time for One Good Thing someone or something that makes West Michigan a good place to live.
Kids are usually only aware of the basics. That next homework assignment. The next game. What s for lunch. But a local teenager became aware of something much more serious. And now he wants to make other people aware of it, too. Behind you! Nice pass, nice shot. In the back of my mind, I knew something was definitely wrong.
The then 14 year old because aware of something entirely new.

LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) –Â High school championships are being completed over the next two weekends, with titles claimed in volleyball and girls swimming and diving on Saturday, and high school football champions decided next weekend.
BC St Phillip claimed the D4 title Saturday, as the Fighting Tigers defeated Auburn Hills Oakland Christian in five games.
In 11-man football, Centreville advanced to the D8 title game, where the undefeated Bulldogs will take on Ubly at 10 am on Saturday January 23

MHSAA Volleyball Returns Tuesday, Four SW Michigan Teams Remain
The continued effort to complete the Michigan High School Athletic Association s fall sports schedule continues this week with the final week of Girls Volleyball statewide.
The postseason for volleyball was stopped in mid-November, just before the final three rounds were set to be completed. After two whole months and the pilot program for COVID-19 testing in place for the fall sports, the sport s tournament will continue with its State Finals coming this Saturday, January 16
th.
The good news is that the venue for the State Semifinals and Finals will remain the same as it has since the first Fall season of Girls Volleyball in 2007. Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek will host the Semifinal rounds on Thursday, January 14

Michigan’s football program had an eventful national signing day.
It added its top remaining 2021 target in West Bloomfield four-star running back Donovan Edwards and also held on to two prospects who were strongly considering other schools: four-star receiver Xavier Worthy and three-star cornerback Ja’Den McBurrows.
But the Wolverines also lost two of their top defensive prospects as four-star linebacker Branden Jennings flipped to Maryland and four-star defensive end Quintin Somerville flipped to UCLA.
