they have shut down all the traffic lanes for the shipping area and it is busy. it is a busy ship and they will be losing a lot of money. they are trying to figure out after the get that crewmember out how they can right that ship, get it out of the way, get the gas out of the water coming get the port of brunswick back up and running. but right now, the tricky maneuver of trying to get that fourth and final crewmember out of the golden ship has all hands on deck right now, shep. shepard: trace gallagher more updates throughout the afternoon. thank you. now this breaking news out of baltimore where fire and police officials say they discovered a thing on with 1,000 gallons of gasoline and cans in it, parked in a garage. the local station there in baltimore said the fire department got a threat of a suspicious vehicle parked in this building, safety officials ordered an evacuation and again,
inside. they can t get this crewmember any water or food behind that glass. they were working on extracting him right now. his condition at this point is unclear, but they are still talking to him. remember, we told you about the language barrier, these are south korean nationals. they had one of the ship s captain s go out there and actually translate for the coast guard, which is the way they work this whole thing. we ve heard about earlier, the tapping of the bottom of the hole. they didn t know, but this thing carries 4,000 cars and actual people alive. now we know and they are trying to get that fourth man. that is the tricky part of this thing, shep. they are also concerned about the economic and environmental aspects of this. environmental because the atlanta german constitution is reporting there is gas coming out of the ship. they are trying to drain it, but some of that is getting to the port of brunswick. the economic worry, of course,
overturned. it is unusual because the golden ray is a start of state-of-the-art cargo ship built two years ago. for now the busy port of brunswick is shut down more than 600,000 cars are shipped through this channel each year and so for the ship itself does not appear to be releasing a lot of pollutants into the water, but then again, the atlantic journal-constitution is reporting there is a small strong of gas in the area and the crews are working on removing the ship s fuel and then using booms and barriers to kind of contain any leak. right now, what we have is this exciting adventure underway but of course that was the old movie. and we cannot find that type of rescue happening in real life. but they are going about doing this, the coast guard to hold a news conference in about 26 minutes. we should get a lot more information how they plan to attack this thing at that time. trace, thank you so much.
alive but getting them out is proving to be extremely difficult. we are waiting for the coast guard to give an update on the situation within the hour. know where it held the crewmembers are doing really. the coast guard reports it plans to drill another hole to deliver supplies. it s already been more than 36 hours since crew members on the boat called for help. the ship is to cofootball fields long. it flipped on its side leaving the port of brunswick and saint simons sound 35 miles north of jacksonville. that happened about 2:00 in the morning. it was overnight yesterday. the shipping route now shut down to all traffic, fire and smoke erupted from the boat known as the golden rate after it capsized. the coast guard crews rescued by helicopter but those four crewmembers apparently had no way to get out. they are from south korea in the country and the country s foreign ministry reported they are stuck in an engine room where the temperature is reported to be 90 degrees.
