David Maxwell describes himself as an accumulator. He’s collected beer cans and vinyl records since the 1970s, and amasses books about the history of Disneyland. At home in Port Coquitlam, B.C., his gaze lands on a styrofoam coffee cup, which he’s had since his family went to “The Happiest Place on Earth” on vacation in 1976. It was the United States Bicentennial and he was nearly 12 years old.
