he has yet to come out and say, you know, this was wrong. we ve heard him say the leak from pat foye was wrong, pat foye was play iing in traffic i the term he used. i m waiting for the former attorney general of new jersey to say, this was wrong. we re going to get that ch s chance because he s been subpoenaed. and the port authority board meeting is coming up in february. the ripple effect of this controversy is already happening. in hoboken, which has also been linked with this, his legal firm has been severed from that development. we have the port authority commissioners saying they might take some action against david samson. he s going to face, if he goes to the meeting, he will face some real scrutiny. we ve had loretta weinberg religiously showing up at the port authority meetings. i think a the lot of media people, the most heavily attended meeting ever. be very interesting to see david
i think it s becoming politically difficult to do that. the ground is shifting around them. i wasn t sure but i thought i heard had bramnick called for the u.s. attorney to investigate. it may not be appropriate for the legislative committee but perhaps that should be for the prosecutors to do. maybe all she needs to do is call up the u.s. attorney s office and they can get that going. that struck me, too. that struck me, too, when he said that. take us through, if you could, senator, where the because we had this flood of subpoenas that were issued by the assembly committee. your committee is yet to meet. what s happening? one thing that i think is very important is senator weinberg was really at the very forefront of this, the one who first started attending the port authority meetings and really got the issue going. the assembly committee had subpoena power at that point so they started earlier. our committee was constituted
governor. almost anybody who s named at the port authority by christie prefaces anything they say with, well, on behalf of the governor, or thanks to the governor. and, well, he s the chairman. in terms of how he fits into this scandal, the contrast between the way he was so vocal about that backup, which was a port authority caused backup back on easter sunday, 2011, and the fact he made no public meant about what happened in ft. lee. obviously that could be explained by him not knowing what was under way in ft. lee and so, therefore, why would he make a public comment about it? is he usually loathed to make public comments about things once they become political matters of political discussion? is he a kind of guy who doesn t like to talk to reporters generally? he will talk to reporters in course of port authority meetings.
