Port Allen Police investigating shooting death of a teen

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Port Allen Police Department is investigating after a teen was shot May 1, according to officials.
Officials say early Saturday morning, around 12:56 a.m., West Baton Rouge dispatch received reports of shots fired near the 200 block of N. 14th St. and located a female juvenile victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to Port Allen Police Chief Hicks, the victim was taken to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be shared when it becomes available.

(WAFB) - An attorney for a Port Allen police officer claims his client may be a target of gender discrimination after she was recently demoted and her pay was cut without warning and without a reason given. A new chief came in back in January 2021 and the attorney says things went downhill for his client from the very first day.

PORT ALLEN, La. Bodycam footage recently released captures the moment a Louisiana officer repeatedly uses his Taser against a 67-year-old man, taunting the individual by telling him to scream, according to reports.
“Scream again,” Police Officer Nolan Dehon is heard telling Izell Richardson during the encounter in Port Allen last month. “Go ahead, scream. Scream again.”
When Richardson, who is handcuffed, yells for help from the back of the police cruiser, Dehon, 45, tases him twice, KMOV-TV reported.
The 45-minute video shows Dehon still arguing with Richardson at the police station even as the arrestee is being taken to the hospital.
