Under ordinary circumstances, even I, a true devotee of mindless television, may have struggled to see the point in sitting through
Penguins: Meet the Family, which was essentially a televisual list of the world’s penguin varieties.
However this has been a Christmas like no other and in the event it proved to be a soothing and transporting programme, offering a slew of comforting sights to mentally bank and return to in low moments (footage of the chocolate brown, luxuriantly furred Snares penguin chick dramatically reduces despondency levels.)
