Gloucester man charged after off-duty deputy shot

YORK COUNTY, Va. - York-Poquoson Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 100 block of Leslie Lane around 4 a.m., Monday.
According to a news release, a string of reported vehicle break-ins led to the shooting of a male homeowner after he confronted a man.
A male suspect was arrested, accused of shooting the off-duty sheriff s deputy. The deputy was taken to a local hospital to be treated and he s in stable condition, officials said.
The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Jordan Edmonds Hilliard.
