now aren t so lucky. as much as ten inches of rain fell in the region in just a few hours. and it triggered enormous flash floods, resulting in some tense and amazing rescues. the pictures are amazing. our meteorologist is tracking it all for us from the cnn severe weather center in atlanta. how did this happen? well, wolf, we ve seen the same pat thaern emerged in arkansas and even earlier in texas where we had some tropical moisture kind of training along a front. and i want to show you what i m talking about. from 1:00 in the morning to 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon, heavy rains sweep across oklahoma city. some of the heavier concentrations are north of the city. when you look at the total rainfall, that s very apparent. in fact, areas in the brighter pink just north of oklahoma city, near where the rescue took place, that s where we saw nine inches of rain. most of the rain occurring
