Anticipating the government confirming a full exit from lockdown towards the end of June, multiple foodie events have been planned in Suffolk for this summer and beyond. The Great British Food Festival, Helmingham Hall, July 24 – The stunning setting of Helmingham, with its formal rose gardens, parterres and orchard walks, lends itself perfectly to this event. Alongside hot and cold food, ale and wine bars, craft and gift stalls, foraging walks and chef demos, at the heart of the festival is an artisan market, which will be socially distanced and have a one-way system. Christchurch Park will play host to a four day Film and Food Festival this August - Credit: Archant Christchurch Park in Ipswich is going to be home to a dazzling four-day Film and Food Festival this summer – putting your favourite films up on the big screen while tempting your taste buds with some locally sourced street food. The Open Air Film & Street Food Festival is a collaboration between outdoor screening specialists Pop Up Pictures and Ipswich Borough Council and will see 14 films screened over four days taking in everything from family favourites to spine-tingling horror flicks set against the backdrop of Christchurch Mansion.

When: May 2, 8am to 4pm  Cost: Free The Beccles Antiques Street Market is back in its temporary location at the quay, alongside the River Waveney, after it relocated from the town centre in 2020 so there was more space for social distancing. Visitors can expect around 100 professional dealers offering antiques and collectables and a food court with plenty of seating.  There is a council-run car park at the quay and there will be some within the actual market area which costs £1, though this will be limited and there are plenty of other car parks in the town.  The summer drive-in cinema at the Norfolk Showground.
