New-look Poor Farmers auction raised over €31,000   THERE was a different look to the annual Ardara Poor Farmers Auction which took place on Tuesday night. The event, which is traditionally held in Teague’s Bar, was moved to Brockagh Mart this year with all bids coming in online. Advertisement A total of €31,220 was raised on the night with all proceeds going to the local Downstrands Counselling Service, the Charlie Bennett Fund and Pieta House. The annual event has raised more than €378,000 for charity over the past fifteen years. Daniel Moy and Malachy Daniels were the auctioneers who were charged with selling more than one hundred lots which had been sponsored.
