First team coach Bryan Klug says that striker Dean Bowditch still has a future with the Blues despite another stuttering season. The former England U19 international, who has a year left on his Town contract, returns to action for the reserves this evening after a spell out with a groin injury.
Dean Bowditch made a goalscoring return to action as the reserves all but clinched the Pontin s Holidays Combination League East Division with a 3-1 victory over Leyton Orient at Portman Road.
Town s reserves fell to their first league defeat in more than a year as the MK Dons avenged their recent 12-1 thrashing by beating the Blues second string 3-1 at Woughton-on-the-Green this afternoon.
Dean Bowditch gave manager Jim Magilton a reminder of his goalscoring abilities as he netted a first half hat-trick in a 4-0 reserves defeat of Stevenage Borough at Portman Road. Jordan Rhodes added the other, as seems to be obligatory in reserve games this season.
Town s reserves will take on Leiston at Portman Road in the final of the Club Colours Suffolk Premier Cup on Tuesday, 17th April (KO 7.30pm). Leiston, managed by former Blue Jason Dozzell, beat Newmarket Town 3-1 in their semi-final last week.
