Memorial Day ceremonies held Monday at Poncha Springs and Fairview Cemetery honored those who lost their lives in the service of the United States of America.
The Hasselbrink family and local Boy Scouts placed approximately 900 flags at the gravestones of veterans in Fairview Cemetery Friday as part of a long-standing tradition.

Despite rain and chilly temperatures, a crowd turned out for Memorial Day observances beginning at 10 a.m. Monday at the Chaffee County Veterans Memorial Park in Poncha Springs.
