Crowds gathered around the green field at the center of campus on Nov. 25 on the Sierra Quad to watch a ceremonial performance, the Gourd Dance. Native dancers returned to the Cherokee Nation over Labor Day weekend to partake in the annual Inter-Tribal Powwow at the tribe’s cultural grounds in Tahlequah.
