Tuesday is Election Day for some Crawford County voters

BUCYRUS Tuesday is Election Day but not for all Crawford County registered voters. Voters living in the Wynford School District, Polk Township and Bucyrus City Ward 1 will be voting on Tuesday and 122 have already voted early at the Crawford County Board of Elections office or requested a mail-in ballot. “Early voting ends today (Monday) at 2 p.m.,” said Ruth Leuthold, director of the Crawford County Board of Elections. Leuthold said that Wynford District voters who live in the city limits of Bucyrus will vote at the Crawford County Fairgrounds tomorrow as usual. “Polk Township voters will cast ballots at Galion High School,” said Leuthold.

Staff report BUCYRUS - Voters in Bucyrus First Ward, the Wynford school district and Polk Township will head to the polls on Tuesday. In the county s only primary race, Bucyrus Republicans in precincts 1A and 1B will chose a candidate for the First Ward seat on Bucyrus City Council  Tracey Price, 54, 1019 Reid St., or Brenton Potter, 30, 902 Maple St. For 24 years, the seat has been held by Bruce Truka, who announced early this year he would not seek another term. No Democrat filed in the race, but at least one resident has said he intended to file a petition to run as an independent candidate. Independent candidates had until 4 p.m. Monday to file their petitions.
