Marion and Polk county district attorneys say they re opposed to the early release of violent offenders who helped fight Oregon Wildfires last year.
The list of prison inmates under consideration by Gov. Kate Brown was released to district attorneys offices throughout the state Thursday.
The list includes those serving time for Ballot Measure 11 Mandatory Minimum offenses and other violent person crimes. The plan would allow the reduction of their sentences for up to one year, Marion County District Attorney officials said.
“I will be informing the Governor and the Department of Corrections of my objection to the early release of any felon who has perpetrated violence upon another person or unlawfully used firearms or weapons to commit their crimes, Marion County District Attorney Paige Clarkson said.
