Federal food program resumes at PACC in Gardner

GARDNER – After a brief hiatus, the Farmers to Families Food Box program has resumed operations in the city.
Hundreds of residents turned out at the Polish American Citizens’ Club on Saturday, Dec. 5, to receive a free box of fresh fruit and vegetables, cooked meat, eggs and milk. (The pickup time was originally scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. but organizers handed out boxes about an hour-and-a-half earlier due to the impending snowstorm.) Officials said the PACC will also be the pickup site on Saturday, Dec. 12 but they are hoping to make Fridays the distribution day from then on.
