any moment. the president is due to sign an executive order on veterans. we may see even more of him. we ll be bringing you more on that. i ll let you go to garrett because i do want to talk a little bit about the actual policy pieces that the president put into play here. garrett, what are they saying on the hill, specifically with regards to the president s suggested approach to how all of this gets done? well, i think democrats walk away from this meeting feeling very good. the president absolutely wants to get a deal done on daca. and you hear him talking about the idea of maybe splitting some of this up. that there s the dream act part. there s the border security part. there s the comprehensive immigration reform part. that s, as you pointed out, a little bit ago, that s sort of an electrified phrase up here, it s been tried and failed so many times in the past. there s an argument to be made it would take a conservative president with a conservative base to really get that t
going to be popular for him. he actually came in a very good mood. he told his members behind closed-doors to soak it up. i think there s a sense of excitement here. apparently, there are amount of unfactuals in the winston churchill movie. he was joking. and the panel is correct in that the bill is a lot more complicated than what they originally set out to do here. and it s missing a couple big policy pieces that paul ryan was a personal advocate for, including making a major change for the way we tax imports and exports. that he wanted to make a fundamental piece of this bill that came off the top from the beginning so, yes, there have been tradeoffs. i think republicans are going to feel like a victorious day for
