US President Joe Biden will struggle to get his $6 trillion budget through the Senate since “plenty of Democrats” are “very worried” about tax increases it may require, according to American Principals Project Director of Policy Jon Schweppe.
“It’s going to be very difficult because as you may know the Senate is split 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats which means the Democrats have very little margin for error,” he said.
“Plenty of Democrats in the Senate have already expressed concerns about some of the tax increases that might be necessary for this, they’re very worried about it.
“We’ll see, the Biden administration is looking for a huge deal here, no one’s quite sure what’s going to happen yet”.
