authentic. it starts with actually communicating in ways that i think the party does not understand. we can t only communicate through our elected officials. that is old school. we can t only communicate about an election season or what the candidate is that we want them to be supporting, we have to be talking about these issues on the ground so they see us, that we are visible and not look at this as photo ops, not look at this as just pushing the policy aspect of it. if they see that we re delivering something, even if it s just pizza and granola bars, the folks who were out there last night, i went to a store and was just like i m a democrat. i m going to try to feed you. we have got to feed the soul of all of the people who are out there energized and this moment we may not get this moment again because people are now finding other ways of taking daily actions after the march. if we are not one of those actions, we may lose them. jamal, did the democrats err
is hillary clion authentic? is donald trump a bad guy? and everybody missed the policy aspect. the one message that residence natded in wisconsin, michigan, ohio. around trade and jobs. so people prioritized and said trump might not be a bad guy but we agree with his policy position. i think that s what we missed. we focussed on the personality too much. that s why it was negative. it was two unlikable people. what should the press do when you have something as unusual as donald trump basically defying a lot of what we re being told the fact around the russian story? i think you dig in and try to find people who general mattis when he was the commander of the at the camp pendleton. you find john kelley, former chief of staff and talk to him. they ve got an amazing national security team. i have to add about negativity.
policy aspect. al gore, of course, was there to talk about climate change with her initially. so that shows that she s going to have a very important role in the west wing. when you talk about a social role, of course, in contrast to melania trump who said she s not going to be moving until the end of the year. raises the question of ivanka playing a bigger role, perhaps, than policy. you talk about her being in on that meeting, though, with the prime minister of japan and also at the same time finalizing a business deal that would be for the trump organization in japan. that is something that should be raising red flags, isn t it? it certainly is raising a lot of flags and it certainly is opening them up to questions and criticism. again, there s not a rule book for this so on one hand you have the wall street journal editorial page saying he has to sell everything to avoid con fliblon fli conflicts of interest. look, these conflicts are inherent, almost impossible to see how th
thinking, boy, look at all the affects that it has on this if we allow it to happen. then you start adding in the issue about, okay. we re an international company. so another country will ask us, now, we want the keys to that, and we go on and on and on. and so then when you look at the whole end run, you don t do anything to hurt the country by helping the country. right. so bottom line is there, howard, i want your take on this. is there a solution to this, or is this going to be one of those endless tug-of-wars? well, i believe it s going to be an endless tug-of-war, because i look at the technical aspect, the policy aspect, the business aspect, and i can t think of any one, go do this, and this will fix the problem. there are a lot of assets on both sides that have valid, valid ways of doing things, but nothing is going to come in and solve the problem for everybody
y#)gbnú[5!/]m┌(o[çeuu-3 1? ijr @ tócz[!tbt00&4& attention? it certainly is east of the mississippi. yeah. it is definitely getting a lot of attention. i don t believe i m qualified to speak too much on the policy aspect of it i know there has been a lot of finger pointing within the administration and government here in san francisco. i know he that the mayor has been blaming the sheriff for and it was certainly a surprise from my experience at least, when we covered the homicide that day when it happened, it just seemed like, you know, another shooting. it was an odd location on the pier. but the next day it was definitely a surprise when we woke up and we had seen donald trump s statements and whatnot. so it has a lot of media attention. the courtroom was filled today with reporters. i think we were expecting more to be said, but unfortunately, we didn t really learn any information today at the hearing.
