SRINAGAR: Police on Thursday said that three persons were arrested as they were on way to cross Line of Control in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police in a statement said that three persons, Majid Rakeeb Konshi (26) of Nowgam Handwara, Waseem Ahmad Khan (28) of Deedikot Kupwara and Ghulam Mustafa Ahanger (28) of Goshi Kupwara, were motivated by a person through the spoof calls on privacy focused app that he would help them to cross the LoC. “He told them that he would meet them in person once they will reach Uri and would eventually tell them the exact crossing point at the LoC.”

In a statement police spokesman said in furtherance to our continuous efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Uri Police recovered contraband from Dachi.
“A routine Naka was established by Police Uri in front of BOP Dachi.At around 1100hrs during the routine checkup of vehicles a SUMO vehicle bearing registration no JK05D 6531 was stopped the vehicle and passengers were frisked and two packets of Heroin like substance(one small,one big) was recovered from possession of two persons namely one Irfan Ah Mir son of Habibullah Mir and Irshad Ahmed Pood son of Mohammad Sharif Pood both are residents of Nambla C Uri,” said police spokesman in a statement.
