Police just wrapped up a press conference and they tell us that the officer who was off duty who died in this tragedy has been identified as officer lamar pool. A 19 year veteran of the force. He was 42 years old and he was based out of the 12th district. Lets go to some video right now. The off duty officer lamar pool was riding his motorcycle just after 4 00 p. M. When investigators say Toyota Corolla traveling in the opposite direction on devereaux struck the officer as they met on roosevelt boulevard. Cops say that the car then kept going a few blocks.
