The mayor says one Police Officer was struck as mr. Rahami started firing at the Police Officers bullet proof vest apparently saved his life. Mr. Rahami was put on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to hospitals where he is in police custody. Police earlier this morning confirmed that they confirm that there is more than one person involved in all of this. Confirmed on west 23rd street in manhattan when the first Pressure Cooker bomb exploded. As you know, 29 people injured, none of them died. Another device on a halfhour later west 27th street. Reporter and kristen, officer Donny Pearman has been with the Pittsburg Police department for 22 years. Everything from his colleagues to those he protected in this Community Say he was passionate about his job and it showed. He knew everybody here. Everybody knew him. Reporter officer Donny Pearman patrolled the Housing Development for 15 years, and not only grew to know everybody but also made a difference in their lives. Five of them are fighting for their lives, including a cyclist who was hit by the double decker tour bus as well as the driver of that tour bus. Six people had to be extricated by firefighters.
