The police yesterday prevented the Left Democratic Front (LDF) from organising a demonstration in front of the Election Commission building in Barisal.
A case has been filed in this connection, said Additional SP (crimes and administration) Mollah Azad Hossain.
According to local police sources, police conducted a drive at Kumarkhali area and arrested accused Mehedi. When they reached Police Lines Road, some locals attacked them to snatch away the arrestee.
Later, the accused was brought to the local police station.
