Clashes between law enforcement agencies, the military and the Shi'ites belonging to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) are a regular occurrence in Nigeria, particularly in Abuja and Kaduna.
The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), otherwise known as ‘Shiites’, has petitioned the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio over allegations of extra-judicial killing against Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State and the state police commissioner, Mr. Ali Audu Dabigi. The Islamic group also wrote a petition to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Mr Solomon Arase, over the alleged attack and killing of its members by the duo.
“It is consequent to these that we forward this petition to you to take the necessary action on the Kaduna State Governor and the Commissioner of Police Mr. Ali Audu Dabigi for the breach of citizens’ constitutional rights. While we anticipate your prompt response, we wish you luck in your endeavor,” the petition concluded.
Jamilu Sa'idu, aka Dan-Masukudi, alleges that the police in Kaduna under the directives of Commissioner, Musa Garba, were hunting him and intimidating his family.
