The family of Katlego Mphuthi who was killed in a suspected vigilante attack in Diepsloot on Friday night said their troubled boy did not deserve to die in such a gruesome manner.
The shooting comes two days after Police Minister Bheki Cele said the SAPS tactical response team, Amabherethe, were deployed to the area to curb high levels of crime.
A heated exchange between law enforcement and the community was sparked by the first arrests - with police firing rubber bullets to disperse the rowdy crowd.
It s understood officials from the departments of home affairs, housing and community safety are trying to find some interventions to address community grievances.
