Ebonyi CP confirms death of 3 Police Officers in road accident, as 10 others sustain serious injuries

The Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State Command, CP, Garba Aliyu on Wednesday confirmed the death of three police officers in a ghastly motor accident at Isieke Junction along Abakaliki Enugu express-way.
CP, Aliyu revealed that there were thirteen officers in the Hilux van returning from a peacekeeping mission in Effium community.
He noted that ten out of the thirteen officers sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.
CP Aliyu who confirmed the incidents to newsmen said: “Yes, I am in the hospital now, we lost 3 officers while 10 are in intensive unit care”, he said.

Former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has condemned Wednesday’s killing of a mother and child at the popular PTI junction in Uvwie local government area of Delta State.
Both mother and child, according to eye witness reports in video clips circulating on various social media platforms, were alleged to have been killed by a speeding Police Hilux vehicle said to be on a hot chase after internet fraudsters.
Gbagi, while reacting to the incident, in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, sympathized with the families of the deceased and appealed to residents of Uvwie to remain calm and eschew taking laws into their hands.

The Katsina State Police Command has announced approval by the Police High Command for the establishment of more than 10 Mobile Police Units.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State’s Command, Superintendent Gambo Isa, who made the above disclosure to The Nation in his office in Katsina, said the command is now fully poised to chase out bandits and criminal elements out of the state
He said ’’You can confirm for yourself, we are presently receiving quite a number of vehicles, logistics, equipment and personnel for the task ahead, there is no more hiding place for criminals in Katsina state.”
