Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], March 11 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Gautam Sawang on Thursday took his first dose of COVID-19 vaccination at his office here.
The COVID-19 vaccination drive for Andhra Pradesh police personnel had started on February 24. The state police had voluntarily postponed the COVID-19 vaccination in view of the gram panchayat elections in the state and 90 per cent of its personnel have now taken the vaccine.
Sawang lauded his team for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The DGP recalled that 110 police personnel had lost their lives due to the pandemic. He urged people to get vaccinated. (ANI)

TDP chief cites two instances in East Godavari
Alleging large-scale violence and violations of the poll code in two panchayats in East Godavari district, by the YSR Congress Party leaders and activists, in collusion with a section of the local police, the national president of the TDP N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged the law enforcement department to rein in their ‘erring staff’.
In a letter to the Director General of Police Gautam Sawang, Mr. Naidu accused the YSRCP-backed candidates in Illapalli panchayat in Biccavolu mandal and Anaparty panchayat in Anaparty Assembly segment of harassing the candidates backed by the opposition parties and having false cases booked against them, in collusion with a section of the local police personnel. He urged the DGP to rein in his department staff and initiate stringent action against them.

APCID wins award for its project ‘4S4U’

The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department’s project titled ‘4S4U’ has won the Indian Express Technology Sabha Award in the category Internet of Things (IoT).
Additional DG, CID and VC and M.D of AP Police Housing Corporation P.V. Sunil Kumar accepted the award in a virtual seminar on Wednesday for his innovative concept of digital safety called Project 4S4U.
The APCID bagged these awards continuously for the years 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Project 4S4U, which means Stay Safe Stay Smart For You, aims at making the public aware of cybercrimes and protecting themselves from becoming victims of online fraudsters.
