Allentown is get something rain. Look at the downpours moving across delaware bay into cumberland, Cape May County seeing some of the heavier rain right now. It is going to be starting things off. 72 degrees in delaware and the Lehigh Valley. New jersey with the rain is at 70 degrees and philadelphia, low 70s while its dropped into the upper 60s in the suburbs this morning. Temperatures will be warming into the 80s. Mostly cloudy skies and 71 degrees to start with, upper 70s at 10 00. This afternoon, well see showers and thunderstorms return. The potential for strong storms in the Lehigh Valley and the suburbs. At the shore, wont find 80s today with a rainy day for the coastal communities. High temperatures near 80 degrees this afternoon. Theres already some rain out there. Later on this afternoon we expect thunderstorms, pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware all into the first alert today. The Severe Threat has been extended through the entire area. It is mostly going to be this afternoon and this evening. So if youre starting your fourth of july plans early with today, keep in mine we could see strong to severe storms. What you can expect in any severe thunderstorms, damaging winds, small hail, heavy downpours and lightning. Those will be the main threats as we go through this afternoon and this evening. Heres a look. I mentioned that severe storm threat has been extended. Thats this yellow area here. Conditions look fairly favorable for some damaging winds with any of these storms and very heavy rain and lightning. That will be the case later
