Kolkata Police will take strict action against anybody found bursting firecrackers in violation of the Calcutta High Court's ban on sale and use of all kinds of fireworks during Diwali and Chhath Puja, a senior official said on Saturday.
After restricting people from entering the pandal during the Durga Puja, the Calcutta High Court on Thursday said that people will be allowed to enter the pandals and offer prayers and take part in Sindoor Khela (a ritual performed on Dussehra) only if they are fully vaccinated.
