Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers played Hanuman Chalisa on a loudspeaker near a mosque in Charkop area of Mumbai on Wednesday morning, a day after their party chief Raj Thackeray gave a call to recite the religious hymn to protest against loudspeakers blaring 'azaan'.
Religious leaders from different communities had met senior Mumbai Police officials and the issue of loudspeakers was discussed. The police also stated that of 2400 temples in the city, as of now only 24 temples had sought permission to use loudspeakers on the temple premises.
The CREDAI-MCHI told its members to strictly ensure to not carry out any work from 10 pm to 6 am, during all days of the week and non-adherence to this will invite disciplinary actions.
