A scary scene unfolded last week in North Bellmore, when the Nassau County Police Department received several 911 calls on Aug. 15, reporting a woman firing a black handgun into the air near the busy intersection of Jerusalem and Bellmore avenues.
Nassau County prosecutors had asked District Court Judge William Hohauser to order Kiber Calderon to be held on $200,000 bail, according to Nicole Turso, a spokeswoman for Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly.
Kiber Calderon, 31, of Brooklyn, was slapped with 13 charges stemming from the incident including three counts of menacing in the third degree, two counts of menacing a police officer and multiple counts of criminal possession.
The 33-year-old woman, who was not identified, allegedly fired a single shot from a semi-automatic pistol, held it to her head, and waved the weapon around before the police vehicle hit her, according to Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder.
