Gendarmerie unit in capital turned into Covid treatment facility
Sat, 10 July 2021
Military Police Commander Sao Sokha has instructed officers to turn the Gendarmerie’s intervention unit near the Boeung Tamok lake in Phnom Penh’s Prek Pnov district into a Covid-19 treatment facility for mild cases.
In an order dated July 8, Sokha said the logistic department has to work with relevant specialist units to prepare the facility at the Boeung Tamok base, where all Covid-19-positive officers and veterans with mild symptoms will be admitted.
“The logistics department has to arrange a team of medics and provide training for medical personnel so that they are better prepared to treat and look after Covid-19-infected officers and veterans who undergo quarantine at home,” he said.
