EASTHAMPTON A 67-year-old Chicopee woman died from injuries in a single-car crash on I-91 southbound in Easthampton on Friday afternoon, according to Massachusetts State Police.
State Troopers assigned to Northampton barracks responded to the crash at approximately 2 p.m. where they found a Honda Accord stopped in the breakdown lane with damage from striking a stationary object on the side of the highway, according to State Police.
Troopers and good samaritans at the scene quickly rendered medical aid to the driver of the car until Northampton Fire and Rescue arrived. The driver was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries, according to State Police. Police said a preliminary investigation reveals the driver may have suffered a medical incident prior to the crash.
Orange man dies in head-on collision Monday

ATHOL A 59-year-old man from Orange was killed Monday night after he lost control of his car negotiating a curve near 49 South Main St. Athol, colliding head on with another vehicle in the opposite lane, according to a press release from Laurie Loisel, director of communication and outreach for the office of Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan.
The crash occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Athol firefighters had to use cutting equipment to remove the body from the wreckage. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
