A hearing for a Lafayette Police officer who wants his job back after being fired for a use-of-force incident was tabled by the board who would decide on his discipline.
The Lafayette Fire and Police Civil Service Board on Wednesday continued the hearing at the request of Pablo Estrada s attorney, Allyson Prejean. Estrada is appealing to be reinstated after he was fired in February.
Prejean said there was an open file at the 15th Judicial District Attorney s Office, which would prevent her from being able to defend Estrada. An open file could mean the matter is scheduled to be heard by a grand jury.
