Public may still comment on Canandaigua police reform plan

CANANDAIGUA To boil down a 175-page state-required report aimed at reforming police agencies, the Canandaigua Police Department is working to improve in areas such as diversity training and recruitment, but in many areas, existing policies and procedures are meeting state standards.
The public has until Feb. 15 to comment on the city’s police reform plan a draft of which is now on the city’s website. The overall effort is aimed at reforming all police agencies in New York, including Canandaigua, Geneva and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
