NILES A Youngstown man is listed in critical condition after being shot early this morning. According to a news release from Niles police, the 27-year-old was found at 181 Royal Mall Drive with a gunshot wound to his torso. When officers arrived, they found the door to the residence was kicked in, a shell casing and a gun in the victim’s waistband. The release states the shooting victim lied about where the shooting took place, saying it happened at a local bar. But officers said further investigation shows that he was shot by a woman with whom he has a child.
