An arrest has been made in the 1992 death of a newborn baby girl dubbed Baby April.
On Thursday, the Moline Police Department announced that 47 year old Angela Renee Siebke, of Whitehall, Ohio, has been charged for the baby girl s death.
In a media release, Rock Island County State’s Attorney Dora Villarreal said Siebke is being charged with first-degree murder. Moline Police Chief Darren Gault said during a virtual press conference that Siebke was arrested in Rock Island and is being held at the Rock Island County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Police say on April 11, 1992, a man walking his dog found the body of a full-term baby girl in a plastic garbage bag floating along the bank of the Mississippi River off 17th Street in Moline.

An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Angela Siebke, 47, of Whitehall, Ohio, and formerly of Orion, Illinois. She was being held in the Rock Island County Jail with bail set at $1 million, the Quad-City Times reported.
The child became known as Baby April” for the month in 1992 when her body was found.
Moline Police Chief Darren Gault credited the diligence of detectives and advancements in the use of DNA for the arrest.
