WEST FARGO The West Fargo Police department will be adding another police officer in 2021 after it received a grant from the state to help focus on at-risk youth.
Police Chief Denis Otterness said the approximately $78,000 grant will help the department hire another officer next year. The position would be one that assists with the department s planned focus on reaching at-risk youth as a prevention method and will also likely work closely with the city s lone cultural liaison officer position. The cultural liaison officer helps educate new residents about the city s police force as well as educating the police department on the plethora of cultures that now make up West Fargo residents.
