Im Jessica Kartalija. Heres what people are talking about today. Police in Southern California saying the manhunt for an excop who went on a weeklong killing spree is over. This noon, were being told it is the body of Christopher Dorner inside a burned out cabin the scene of a shoot out late yesterday. Heres the latest for wjz. Police have not yet confirmed that Christopher Dorner was the man they found inside a charred cabin. Now it will depend on the condition of the body thats recovered. End. Its believed Christopher Dorner the excop turned cop killer is dead in a burned out cabin. Sources tell cbs news that Christopher Dorners body is inside this burned out cabin police cannot yet identify the body. They do believe dorner was inside when the cabin caught fire. Police had the cabin sur surrounded. We believe he was inside the bin inside the cabin still. Mr. Dorner jumped out in front of my truck and said get out, i dont want to hurt you. Police followed the suspect to a near by cabin and thats when the person inside opened fire. Carter evans captured the fire fight on his cell phone camera. Two Police Officers were hit. One is now dead, the other wounded. Police focused their search in the big bear area after they found his burned out truck here. Dorner didnt get far from where his truck was found. Reporter immediately, the new city Police Commissioner, Anthony Batts shut down all Police Academy operations until a thorough investigation and review of all safety procedures can be completed. Reporter and wjz has learned several top commanders at the Police Academy have all been suspended as a result of this incident.
