The second event on the Julius Baer Challengers Chess Tour is named after the legendary Boris Gelfand. This is one of four challenges in which 20 young participants (10 boys and 10 girls) play a single round-robin event with a rapid time control. The winner will receive $15,000 in prize money plus a chance to face top opposition in the next event of the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour.
